Day 1, Arrival in Thessaloniki,
The largest city of Northern Greece. Transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. An optional general tour of city can be offered in the late afternoon. Dinner (optional) and overnight at the hotel
Day 2, :City tour with museum
After Breakfast an experienced guide will guide you to a panoramic tour of the city of Thessaloniki with luxury buses of our company. We will visit the Arch, Byzantine churches, Rotonda, Saint Sofia, Egnatia,Aristotle Square. Our bus will ascend the Castle OVER CITY where another world with endless beauty unfolds. We will visit the Byzantine Museum with its wonderful exhibits of Makedonian and Byzantine Culture. We worship at the Church of St. Demetrios the Great Martyr and the visit the Crypt. Visit to the White Tower.
In the afternoon we will continue the exploration of the city center, where we will visit numerous monuments from the Byzantine period. Most interesting among them are the churches of the Transfiguration, St. Catherine and some others from the late Byzantine period. We also try to visit some newer churches with interesting new icons, murals and mosaics. For dinner (optional) and overnight we will return back to the hotel.
Day 3 – Chalkidiki
After 2 hours of drIve from Thessaloniki Arrive in Chalkidiki. Check in at a 4* resort hotel, located by the sea. Have a welcome dinner at the resort.
Day 4 – Chalkidiki Mount Athos one day Cruise
An unusual day tour along the monk's republic Athos within the scope of a restful ship trip. The monk's republic on the third and eastern peninsula of the Halkidiki is a self-administering part of the Greek-orthodox church and his monuments from the Byzantine time take pleasure of worldwide fame. Since foundation (between 7. And 9. Cent.) the admission is prohibited to women. Men can enter only after getting an approval by the administration of mountain Athos. Twenty cloisters existing today accommodate precious objects of incalculable historical value and are infallible witnesses of the Byzantine empire. From the hotel the journey starts by the bus to Ormos Panagias, a small fishing place on the north-east coast of the Sithonia. Here we go aboard and reach in a restful boat trip the southeast point of the mountain Athos. The ship turns here and goes along the coast with breathtaking views of the monasteries. During this distance you receive from our tourist guide interesting informations about every monastery and the monastic life. On the border to the monk's republic in Ouranoupolis the ship puts in to a 2-hour stop where you have the opportunity, to take your lunch in one of the numerous taverns and to enjoy an ouzo. After lunch the ship brings you again to Ormos Panagias where our buses will wait around to bring you back into your hotel. The ship disposes of a bar with various drinks and sandwiches.
Day 5-6 - The charms of Sithonia
Halkidiki is a popular holiday destination situated in the north east of Greece, facing the beautiful Aegan Sea. Halkidiki is divided into three peninsulas, Kassandra to the west, Sithonia in the centre and Athos to the east. With its white beaches and pine-studded headland, the westernmost area, also known as Kassandra, is the most popular with tourists and locals. Here you'll find a wide range of , traditional Greek tavernas and bars. On the beach you can enjoy plenty of water sports, such as wakeboarding, water skiing and snorkelling. If you are more of a nature fanatic then the rugged and exhilarating peninsula of Sithonia is for you. The coastline is a mixture of traditional harbours, quiet hamlets and deserted beaches, surrounded by forests and plenty of hiking trails.
Halkidiki holidays offer a true mix of nightlife to choose from; tourists can spend their evenings taking a quiet moonlit strolls along or sipping drinks at a waterside bar or choose to indulge in a livelier atmosphere in the likes of Fourka and Hanioti, dancing the night away in bars and pubs. Day 7 Toroneos Cruise ( optional )
An absolute must for everyone! A very special day for "Fun in the Sun". Our experienced captain will cross with you the crystal waters of the Toroneos Gulf with destination the peninsula of Kassandra. Fabulous views and beautiful beaches for topping up those tans. Tickle your taste buds on our succulent BBQ on board (Greek wine included). Among the highlights of the tour are the Turtle Island (bath stop on open sea) and the Pefkochori village (free time for swimming, relaxing, exploring and shopping).. A fun day out for all, and don't forget to keep your eyes open for the dolphins, leaving you with precious moments and lasting memories.
